Using a slide projector in the room, you can choose the chapters of this documentary project on Singapore, a city undergoing constant change where collective memory is disappearing.
Some stories seem difficult to convey... How can we preserve the sensitivity of narratives when talking about a region, a city, its origins, and wanting to turn it into a universal message? In a purely documentary approach, Chloé Lee recounts the transformations of Singapore and the loss of origins in a city undergoing constant reconstruction. By interviewing several generations and organizing their testimonies like a series of slides from different eras, the filmmaker offers a moving account of those who are seeing their neighborhoods disappear and hope to preserve a form of authenticity in the face of rampant globalization.
