In Brussels, Gigi leaves home after her mother tells her she's seeing her drug-addicted ex again. Ten poignant episodes about Belgian youth.
Co-created by rapper Zwangere Guy, who also wrote the score and plays a small role in the show, the series sheds light on little-known facets of Belgium, offering an immersive dive into the heart of its capital, among the youth of Brussels. Gigi won't be a millionaire anytime soon! His mother has taken up with her former lover, who is exerting a harmful influence on her, and he can't stand it. So the young rebel leaves home to fend for himself, looking for odd jobs or a foothold with friends. A social and political fresco, polyglot to boot, with a hard-hitting narrative that's not without a touch of levity, giving it a deeply human dimension. One "putain" of a series!
