DEAD POETS SOCIETY X AT ETERNITY'S GATE

Having fallen out of favor years ago, Ed Saxberger abandoned poetry to work modestly at the post office. His daily life is turned upside down when a student tracks him down. Lyrical and nostalgic.

Ed Saxberger's life has always been about literature! Having failed to achieve success with his poetry anthology in his youth, the former artist now earns a living as a postman. Just when he thought he had been forgotten by everyone, his work is suddenly rediscovered by a group of fascinated students who praise him and welcome him with open arms. It all seems too good to be true... Freely adapting a 19th-century short story by Arthur Schnitzler and transposing it to contemporary Manhattan, Kent Jones, former critic and director of the New York Film Festival, perfectly captures the unique energy of the city that never sleeps, the setting for the lost illusions of a spontaneous Willem Dafoe as an aging poet confronted by Greta Lee, fiery as the leader of the group.
